Dr. Boss earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College in 1998. Three years later he opened his own office in Sterling Ridge, and he has practiced here ever since. Patients who came in with a sore back in their thirties now bring their kids.

Staying in one neighborhood for that long changes how you practice. You see how people actually do a year later, rather than only in the week after treatment. You learn which plans hold and which ones fall apart the moment life gets busy. That feedback has shaped everything about how he runs a visit.

Training and certification.

Beyond the doctorate, Dr. Boss is certified by the American Academy of Manual and Physical Medicine, which covers hands-on manual and physical medicine technique.

That certification matters for one practical reason. It widens the range of problems he can work on before he has to send you somewhere else.

How he works.

Three things run through every visit.

He shows you your spine. Dr. Boss uses an interactive 3D model at the table. You see where the trouble sits, what is pressing on what, and why it hurts in the place it hurts. People follow a plan far better when they can picture the thing they are trying to fix. You can try the same model here.

He treats the cause, not the loud spot. Pain often shows up a long way from the problem. Leg pain usually starts in the low back. A headache often starts in the neck. The exam is how he tells the difference, and the exam is what the plan is built on.

No open-ended contracts. You get a plan with a number of visits in it, and a cost, before you agree to anything. If you are not improving the way he expected, the plan changes or he refers you out. Nobody here is asked to sign up for care with no end date.

Who he sees.

Most of the office comes from The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, Magnolia and the rest of Montgomery County. The problems are ordinary ones: low back pain that will not settle, a nerve sending pain down a leg, a neck that has been stiff since the desk job started, headaches, a disc, an old sports injury, an auto accident.

Some people come in for one problem and are done in a few visits. Others have been hurting for years and need a longer plan. Dr. Boss will tell you which one you are at the start, not after ten visits.

What a visit with him is like.

Your first visit runs about an hour. He asks questions, because your history narrows things down faster than anything else. He examines how you move and where the motion has stopped. He tests the nerves. Then he pulls up the model and walks you through what he found, in plain words.

You leave with a plan you could explain to someone at home. That is the test he uses. If you cannot repeat it back, he did not explain it well enough.
